Using astrology symbols

What is included in this collection?

This collection focuses on Western astrology, with common glyphs, extended Unicode symbols, regional variants, and useful chart abbreviations. There is no single closed list of every astrology symbol: software, historical traditions, and custom fonts can introduce their own forms. Chinese zodiac animals and other systems use different notation.

Why does a symbol look different after I paste it?

You copy a text character, not a picture. The receiving app chooses its font, size, and color. A font without the character may show an empty box. Copying does not carry this page’s styling into Word, Canva, social posts, or another website.

Text symbols or emoji?

The zodiac style control requests either text or emoji presentation for the twelve zodiac signs. Apps can interpret these requests differently. Moon-phase cards already contain emoji. Most planets and aspect glyphs do not have standardized colorful emoji versions.

Are all entries dedicated astrology characters?

No. Some chart symbols use geometric characters, such as □ and △. Others use letters, such as ASC and MC. Those entries are explained on their cards. ℞ is a prescription character also used as a retrograde mark. The element triangles come from alchemical notation.

What do the explanations describe?

Meanings describe conventions used in astrology. Interpretations differ by tradition and chart context. A sign or planet does not have just one meaning, and these symbolic descriptions are not scientific personality assessments.

Character references: Unicode miscellaneous symbols, extended astrology symbols, and alchemical symbols. Uncommon glyphs need a font that includes them. This page uses optional Google Fonts for broader symbol coverage and includes original outlines for Vesta, Astraea, and Hygiea version 2. Their copied text still requires a supporting font in the receiving app.
